Peter Gunn

Mean streets, long shadows, hot women and cool jazz are all a part of this series that was shot in a film noir atmosphere. Emmy and Grammy-winning music from Henry Mancini's dazzling jazz score is sensual, hypnotic and indelible. Blake Edwards created, produced and directed this highly successful, original private eye series for America's 1950's television, when style was everything.

Los Angeles' toughest detective is also a paragon of finesse and sex appeal in this Emmy-nominated series. This mystery adventure show stars Craig Stevens, Lola Albright and Herschel Bernardi.

Known as Pete to his friends, and as Gunn to his enemies, this detective conducted his high-pressure job in a calm, cool way. Peter Gunn receives tips and warnings from Lieutenant Jacoby, a coffee drinking friend that is a police officer. Also providing tips is "Mother," who owns nightclub that she named after herself. Pete's girlfriend Edie Hart works at the nightclub as a singer.
